چکیده

Neutrality is important in natural, molecular and artificial evolution. This work studies how local neutral degree varies over the genospace in a simple class of Lindenmayer-systems, and investigates whether this variation relates to Lempel-Ziv complexity of the phenotype.

Indigenous Sheep Production in Ethiopia: A Review

Research results and facts of indigenous sheep production were reviewed with the aim of delivering relevant information for the beneficiaries. The common production system used in Ethiopia was the extensive type, which was characterized by small flock sizes and the flock being periodically devastated by diseases. Some indigenous sheep groups of the country were characterized and their names wer...

Synthesis of human facial expressions based on the distribution of elastic force applied by control points

Facial expressions play an essential role in delivering emotions. Thus facial expression synthesis gain interests in many fields such as computer vision and graphics. Facial actions are generated by contraction and relaxation of the muscles innervated by facial nerves. The combination of those muscle motions is numerous. therefore, facial expressions are often person specific. But in general, f...

Mapping QTLs related to Zn and Fe concentrations in bread wheat (Triticum aestivum) grain using microsatellite markers

Mineral nutrient malnutrition, particularly deficiency in zinc and iron, afflicts over 3 billion people worldwide. Biofortification of food crops is the best approach for conciliating the micronutrient deficiencies. Understanding the genetic basis of their accumulation is the preconditions for enhancing of these micronutrients. In our study, a mapping population of a set of 118 recombinant inbr...

The Stochastic Evolutionary Game for a Population of Biological Networks Under Natural Selection

In this study, a population of evolutionary biological networks is described by a stochastic dynamic system with intrinsic random parameter fluctuations due to genetic variations and external disturbances caused by environmental changes in the evolutionary process. Since information on environmental changes is unavailable and their occurrence is unpredictable, they can be considered as a game p...

A strong local dependency of developmental bias orients adaptive evolution in a model evo-devo system

The differential production of phenotypes, that is, developmental bias, has been presumed to have a strong influence on the direction of evolutionary modification. In a computational evo-devo system generating neural connectivity, we demonstrate an orienting role for developmental bias during adaptive evolution. The differences in phenotypic transitions taken during evolution are, to a large de...
